Valid Reasons - Why Indian Stock Market is not yeilding Up results ?
• The fall in the Indian stock market on September 24 was not caused by one single problem. Several global and domestic concerns came together at the same time.• One major reason is the RISE in US bond yields ( the interest/return offered by US government bonds increases). When returns from safer investments such as US bonds increase, investors may move money away from shares. This puts pressure on stock markets, especially in countries like India.• Another concern is expensive crude oil. Brent crude has crossed $102 a barrel. India imports a large amount of its oil, so higher oil prices can increase the country’s import bill. This can also put pressure on the rupee and increase costs for businesses.• Investors are also worried that US interest rates may remain high for longer. So keep your Money in US Stocks and bonds and don’t put money in Indian stock Market.• Financial stocks also faced additional pressure because of concerns about possible changes in insurance commission rules. (If the government changes insurance commission rules, insurance companies may earn less or face changes in their business. Investors became worried about this, so they sold some financial stocks, pushing their prices down)• So, the market fall is best understood as a combination of expensive oil, higher global interest rates, pressure on the rupee and investor uncertainty.The important point is that investors are becoming more cautious. When several risks appear together, even strong markets can experience sudden selling and increased volatility.

Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is an intensive verification of electoral rolls conducted by the Election Commission of India. Its Aim is to ensure that no eligible citizen is excluded and no ineligible person remains enrolled in the electoral roll.The process identifies Deaths, Add eligible voters,Update migrations (people shifted to other areas), Duplicate registrations, Incorrect particulars, Protect one person one vote and voters who remain untraceable after prescribed verification.SIR gets its power from constitutional authority and statutory provisions governing under Article 324... and Article 326 of the constitution.Analysis: Why is it so controversial and why does it matter for everyone now?The Supreme Court observed that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process is limited to electoral purposes only and cannot be used for other objectives, such as welfare benefits (government schemes) as the West Bengal government uses it for welfare schemes too.Internal dissent within the Election Commission is the central issue as two Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi reportedly objected on record at least 14 times between October 2025 and August 2026 as what to include and not to include in the Revision process of FORM 6 (Form 6 is the application used for inclusion of a person as a new elector).Centralisation of the voter database is a major concern.Digitalisation can improve efficiency, but excessive centralisation can create a different problem such as - Who has authority to alter voter records?Can local statutory officials verify or challenge centrally made changes?So the real problem to State Governments and local officials is the clarity regarding the implementation process of SIR.

Yet their names were missing when the final SIR roll was published. The main problem was the ECINet software. The system did not provide a “rollback/revert” option that would allow local election officials to reverse an earlier deletion. and Goa officials repeatedly asked Delhi for a solution.Even the Election Commission’s Deputy Election Commissioner intervened. These are software-generated mismatches—for example, differences in a parent's name, unusual age differences between family members, or inconsistencies between old and new electoral records. A discrepancy does not automatically mean that someone is ineligible to vote.The Supreme Court had directed that affected voters should get an opportunity to respond.The bigger issue is centralisation of electoral-roll management.The investigation said two Election Commissioners, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, had raised concerns that increasing central control over ECINet/ERONet could reduce the ability of legally empowered local officials to manage electoral rolls.The Goa case raises a fundamental administrative question: If a legally authorised local election officer examines a voter’s documents and decides that the person is eligible, should a technical limitation in a centrally controlled software system be able to prevent that decision from being reflected in the electoral roll?That is the central issue highlighted by the investigation—not simply a software error, but the relationship between technology, administrative authority and a citizen's right to be included in the electoral roll
